The film is produced by Mohan Apparao and T. Ramesh under Balaji Real Media banner. For the first time, Simbu will play the role of a cop on screen in Osthi. Richa Gangopadhya will play the role of Rancho (made memorable by Sonakshi Sinha in Hindi).
Jithan Ramesh will play the role of Simbu's brother in the film, which was originally played by Arbaaz Khan. Revathi will appear as Simbu's mother, while Sonu Sood will reprise his original role in the Tamil version too. Gopinath will handle the camera while Thaman will compose music.
